Board members

Valeriia Petrechkiv – President. Valeriia comes from the South of Ukraine and holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Development from LCC International University, Klaipeda, as well as a Master’s degree in Politics and Public Policy from SciencesPo, Paris.

She is currently focused on the aspects of EU enlargement, security and defense, and raising awareness about the war in Ukraine. Valeriia has applied this interest through diplomatic work at the Embassy of Ukraine in France, advocating on these issues at the European level. She is also passionate about ethical policy design, transparency, and good governance, drawing on her experience as a researcher and policy analyst at VoteWatch Europe (EU Matrix). Similarly, Valeriia takes interest in the migration policies of the EU, publishing on the matter and working as a job coach at a refugee agency in the Netherlands.

Valeriia has been involved with ECPYouth for the last four years as a former Board Member Secretary, participant and project leader of the Christian Changemakers Program, and Youth Liaison Officer for ECPP.

Victoria Meller – Vice President and Treasurer. Victoria was born in Gdańsk, Poland and spent much of her upbringing after the age of 7 in the United Kingdom.

Victoria obtained her LLB in Commercial Law in 2019 and then subsequently, obtained her LLM in International Commercial Law at the University of Bristol in England.

For her Masters’ thesis, she decided to focus on IT Law, specifically in relation to the exercise of freedom of expression and Big Tech censorship. Upon completion of her Legal Practice Course with a Business in Law MsC in the UK, she went onto studying Polish and Roman law at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

Victoria identifies as a conservative and her interest in politics and public theology propelled her to become a participant of the first edition of the Christian Changemakers program in 2021/22.

Victoria was elected as a Board Member Treasurer in the summer of 2022. Towards the end of 2023, Victoria was elected as Vice President, while simultaneously continuing to serve as a Treasurer. She is now serving her second term as Vice President and Treasurer.

Ivana currently serves as board member communications. She was born in North-Macedonia and studies criminology in North-Macedonia’s capital Skopje.

Politics, born in The Netherlands is responsible for the political substance of ECPYouth. He is currently studying a Masters in Crisis and Security Management: Intelligence & National Security at Leiden University. He holds a bachelor in Political Science from the Faculty of Social Sciences which is part of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU). . Jonathan is also active as high school teacher, teaching topics such as: Society Sciences and Art.

Jonathan is interested in a wide range of political topics, but mainly focuses on international topics. His field of knowledge and experience contains the United States and conflict studies.

He is currently serving his second year as Board Member Politics and is the co-host of the ECPYouth podcast: The Brussels Breakdown.

Events, born in Flanders (Belgium), currently works as an entrepreneur and freelance journalist, combining this with his studies in philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven. Moreover, he is currently the political secretary of the Flemish Peoples Movement and has been a guest lecturer and speaker on ethics at the catholic University-College Artevelde in Ghent for the previous 5 years.

Dominic is passionate about Flemish nationalism, ethics and the differences within ideologies, especially in regards to culture and community building. Having experiences of 8 years in Flemish politics and working as a political cabinet advisor for several vice-mayors of the city of Antwerp, he brings a lot of experience to the table. With strong roots in different student organizations such as being the national president of the Catholic, conservative and Flemish nationalist students of Flanders, president of EKA (European students in Antwerp) and founder of Katholica, a Catholic student community in the city of Antwerp, he proved himself to be an active voice within the younger Christian-conservative generations.

At ECPYouth, Dominic made a quick impression as the Press and Marketing Officer of the EU 2024 campaign, while he was participating in the Christian Changemakers Program. His efforts in these undertakings and his contribution for the 2024 Political Program, made him join the board for the position Events in April 2024. He currently serves as the co-host of the Brussels Breakdown podcast.

Secretary, is a French woman with a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Languages (English and Korean) and International Relations.

Her career aspiration lies in the field of translation and interpretation. She believes in prioritizing families’ interests and advocating for individuals’ rights within international organizations. Marguerite-Marie’s  goal is to bridge linguistic and cultural gaps to facilitate effective communication, empowering individuals to voice their concerns and access essential resources.

Through her work, she aims to contribute to positive change, promoting understanding, empathy, and cooperation on a global scale.
